Motorcycle driving test @ So Cal DMV...... - renting mopeds in chicago

My husband has a Harley Road King and need a driving test to take at the DMV, but probably because several others who have tried and failed because you do not manuveur to such bikes as they wanted. I wonder whether it is a place here in Southern California that rents would be scooters or motorcycles, which could be tested, it is easier to maneuver around the cones and do tricks to slow down? Any other suggestions?
